L3 #54 has ended!

With L3 #54 all wrapped up and finished, I want to personally thank everyone for coming to L3. Over the weekend we had 29 people show up reading for fraggin and having a few brews with us.

Special thanks also go out to:

  • Snap Internet for providing us with unlimited cap for the weekend, and pens and lan yards to give away. Makes it much easier to play online games and not having to worry about the cap limit.
  • Dragon PC for providing us with prizes to give away. Two lucky folks went away home with a Wireless Gaming mouse from Logitech and a gaming keyboard from Logitc as well. (I can't remember the model numbers!)
  • Merciless for donating a SkullCandy headphone set to give away as a prize.
  • Headshot for supply us some bread. :)

So what games did we play over the weekend?

  • Starcraft 2 was popular again. This game is awesome! Custom maps are very nicely done too, with some MineralZ, a tower defense game where you have to protect yourself at night and a very highly polished squad based, mission based coop game.
  • Killing Floor was on the cards. The 6 player limit is pretty silly ... we always get more than 6 people wanting to play dang it!
  • Grand Theft Auto 2. 6 of us hit the pavement, grabbed some cars and wrecked mayhem in Tiny Town. Over the top action and carnage was present with people putting down oil slicks near the edges of maps, mines, molotov cocktail, machine guns and the trusty rocket launcher.
  • League of Legends. A really nice DoTA clone, a little bit of a learning curve, but most of us came from DoTA, so it wasn't too hard to pick up.
  • Hedge Wars. The ball gun. Ball. Gun.
  • Left 4 Dead 2. I didn't join, but I saw some of it played on people's screens. Perhaps someone can comment on this thread!
  • Bad Company 2. I didn't join, but I saw some it played. Perhaps someone can comment on this thread!

And I'm sure there were some other games as well ... perhaps someone can comment on this thread!

We also watched a tonne of funny stuff on the projector. Some highlights were...

All in all, it was fun weekend! We'll do again sometime soon!
