It's time for the second lan of the year! We've been listening to the feedback and we're hoping that some of the new additions to L3 will provide you a lot more fun, a lot more gaming action, shenanigans and the extreme goodness that you've all come to expect from us. L3 is supported by Comics Compulsion, Dragon PC, GameStation and South City Mall.

Note about the price change
As some of you may know for the last lan we were charging $30. It was important for us to do this mostly because everything else had gone up as well (inflation is always a bummer). However, it wasn't just due to inflation but also because we wanted to continue to upgrade L3. We have switches that need replacing, the venue needs some work done to it and we do need new facilities (such as nicer chairs). The extra $5 would have helped a lot. However, we also understand that it starts to become a bit of a stretch for some people - particularly students. So, for this reason, we've decided to reduce the price back to $25 - however, you'll have to bear with us a little, as upgrades will now take quite a bit longer. (Donations are always welcome ) Thanks!

Saturday night pricing
Just letting everyone know that we still do have the saturday night only price of $15. This starts from 6pm on Saturday.

TeamSpeak
We've never really bothered with voice communication in the past, but we feel that it's probably time to embrace it! A TeamSpeak server will be available for everyone to use while at L3. If you don't have a microphone, you can pick them up pretty cheaply at Dragon PC; such as #1, #2 or #3.

Internet
Internet access should allow you to log into Steam, check your emails and use chat clients like mIRC. Everyone will get a cap of 50 mb to use however they want. Please make sure you have your Steam games updated prior to coming to the lan as they tend to be quite large patches!

Intranet
The intranet is now packed with the latest patches making it easier than ever to ensure that you're patched to the right version to join in. The intranet will also have useful information which will tell you what's going on and what'll be happening next. While we've had an intranet for a long time, it's been neglected for almost as long!

Discounts from South City's McDonalds, Subway and Sushi Time
South City Mall have supported us by giving us 20% off if you purchase food from McDonald's, Subway or Sushi Time from within the mall. You'll be given three 20% discount vouchers with your ticket which you can tear off and use within the mall - however, if you need more, please feel free to ask the admin team to print more for you.

Solid Snake's patented 'Southern Auntie May's Cuisine ' BBQ
The first BBQ session will be held on Saturday 12pm till 2pm. There will be free sausages, bread and tomato sauce but if you want to have steaks or anything special feel free to bring some along and put them on the barbecue. South City New World is really close by if you need to get anything.

The second BBQ session will be held on Saturday 6pm till 8pm. We'll be firing up the barbecue again to give people a chance to cook their own dinner. Nothing beats having a steak and a few beers just before having another night of fragging.

Car parks
We know how hard it can be to get car parks in town. We have nine car parks just behind our building for $10 each for the entire lan. Email or message Solid Snake to reserve a car park.

Role playing with FreeLancer + Discovery
This is a new chapter in L3 history. We'll be playing FreeLancer with the Discovery modification and everyone's character will be kept for the next several lans. Players will get a chance to blog their progress on the L3 website, and a write up of the events of the game session will be published. This will be held on Saturday at 2:00 pm till 6:00 pm.

Prize Giving
We have two great prizes from Comics Compulsion and GameStation to give away at prize giving which will be held on Sunday 28th of March at midnight. It'll be a random draw for those who are still around, so everyone has a good chance of walking away with one of these awesome prizes.
