Note!: This is going to be the first lan that we try out Team Fortress 2 which is Steam exclusive. Please update your copy of Steam and Team Fortress 2 on Thursday 1st of July. Once you have finished updating Steam and Team Fortress 2, set Steam to Offline mode. From there, we should be able to play Team Fortress 2 during the lan. To know how to do this, please follow Steam's guide. Please try to remember to do this before coming to the lan. Hopefully it works out, and if it does then we can enjoy more Steam exclusive games in future.
Prizes: These organised games have prizes attached to them.
BYO + Depending on interest: If you do buy some food from New World that you would like to be cooked on the BBQ please let us know. Even if there is only just you, we'll still fire up the BBQ just for you.

For anyone who enjoys competitive style TF2, NZFortress members are planning to gather at this lan for some 6v6 action. So if all you do is play TF2, we'll be playing it during all the organised time and throughout the Saturday night

Its 2:28am and I am staring at my original Starcraft CD's I have carried with me since them old days back in the 90s, they are dusty, they still work, they still have the advertisements for diablo 2 coming soon on the back... and....... I think its about time I put them back into use! Don't think I will be very good though.
I am guessing DOW will be the latest patch, but am not sure if starcraft will be? ( Just didn't want to miss out on that RTS action.

On another note! Rosie and I will be playing
Starwars Empire at War: Forces of Corruption (Unmodded) Patched to 1.1,
Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne version 1.24.0.6327 (not DOTA, Just regular old warcraft 3)
So if you like RTS games those are another 2 we will be pulling out at the LAN most likely on the friday night :D and will try put them when there are no official L3 organized games...

We will be using the latest patch from Blizzard, which is 1.161 . Patches for all of these games will be up on the intranet.

Lol snake, all well and good there on the intranet, but RTS game mechanics change patch-wise and I think a few of us seeing as a SC2 is up for grabs want to get the practicing underway :P !!

I'd like to get in on this RTS action. I have Soulstorm from last lan... but how can I get my hands on the official lan version of starcraft pre-lan?? I mean, without using my pitiful internet allowance?
I think you can still actually buy Starcraft. Either that or TradeMe. I'm sure people are selling it.
I believe there is a network spawn of Starcraft just for this purpose

D: i was looking at the blizz store just before (on the offchance theyd made a new sparkle pony for me to buy) it looks like its about $15usd for a digital copy of starcraft and the expansion, so there should be some dirt cheap copies of like, actual cds somewhere :o

Important note regarding TF2
There was an update on Friday Morning, most of the NZF crew have updated to the new version. For those who have gone "offline" before the update we can either share the files around on the lan or do the update with the available 50mb each, it was a small update.
On the bright-side, at least its highly unlikely that there will be an update Saturday morning now :P
