As long as there are attendees (and it's before midday Sunday), we keep the network up and running.  We're unfortunately only human, so at the end of a LAN we're usually exhausted and ready to go home and sleep it off - so if there's nobody left, we may pack up a little early.  If you want to make sure you can shut your file server down gracefully, make sure you come back for it before noon (and 11:55 doesn't count Wink wink).  Alternatively, set up a scheduled shutdown in advance, or if you have a laptop, whack a crossover cable between that and your server.
