I need everyone to sign up so I can create a ladder for the Starcraft organised game.
Here are the rules (from iCCup, modified slightly):
-
Every match is scheduled by organizers and cannot be rescheduled or canceled, unless done so by the organizers.
-
Every match is played using official iCCup maps. A match played using any other map is not counted.
-
The round starts when player’s opponent is defined on site. Absence for more than 5 minutes after the message of the player’s opponent to the referee is considered to be a defeat. We will be using DC++ as the main form of communication.
-
If a player is present on the channel but the game on its fault has not begun in current of 5 minutes from the message of the opponent, the player is considered absent and receives defeat in a match.
-
The winner is a player who has completely destroyed all buildings of the opponent or has compelled it to surrender
-
If a disconnect occurs in first 2 minutes the rematch has to be replayed despite the situation in match.
-
If there is a disconnect in the game after 2 minutes, both players must agree on who was winning or who was going to win. If they both agree that Player A had already won then Player A will receive a win and advance through the brackets.
-
- If Player A comes back and Player B does not, within 5 minutes, Player A receives the win.
-
- If the players disagree on who was winning and both claim that they would have won, then an Admin will review the replay. If the Admin cannot determine a definite winner, the match MUST be replayed.
-
If disconnect repeats on same player’s fault the referee has a right to disqualify him.
-
If both players agree one or more observers may observe a match. Referees and organizers have mandatory right to observe a match.
-
If referees and organizers are not allowed to observe the match due to a player's demand, a referee has the right not to count the match
-
A player has to save a replay after a match. The winner uploads replay and contacts the channel referee to report his/her win.
-
A player has the right to pause the game, but his opponent cannot unpause it without an agreement.
-
If a player has an urgent necessity to leave he/she must contact a referee and describes the reason. Referee can give 30 minutes time-out maximum.
-
Game mode: One on One (If both players agree you can play in a different mode)
-
Race: Not allowed to pick race after countdown starts.
-
Speed: Fastest
-
Version: 1.161

How are the maps decided? Also, is it considered a win by gg?
I would like to compete but I havent exactly got experience with this game :(
In fact I dont have xp in any of the tournament games ....
The maps will be decided by the players. If an agreement can't be reached, then the referee will choose the map.
just a best of 1 or best of 3? or are you waiting to see number first?
most tournaments have a set map to play first like destination or fighting spirit, something thats balanced. Then the loser picks a map(in best of X series)
Hope is the denial of reality. It is the carrot dangled before the draft horse to keep him plodding along in a vain attempt to reach it.
i totally just signed up anyway, i play -a- blizzard game all day, same deal right?!
Seeing what the numbers will be like first and depending on how complex it will get.

Any suggestions as to how to get my SC to stop glitching the colours all over the show?
If you have an OS later than... I think its 98/2000/XP the colors go awesome. Only way I've found them to stop glitching is to continously ALT+TAB in/out untill it fixes itself. Hope that helps
Yeah pretty much have to alt tab till it fix's itself, try also running the .exe in windows xp sp2 compatability mode

I've got a .bat file that stops the colours going all funky, also stops the game crashing on windows 7.
