So I added a new feature to the website which would tell everyone your "Total Lan Days".
So what is this?
This in short, is how many days you've been at an L3 Lan basically. It's a pretty rough measure, and assumes that if you joined us on Friday for a lan you'd have two days, and if you joined us on Saturday you'd have one lan day. I know that some people only attend on Friday night and then leave on Saturday ... but we're just doing rough count here. It would be kind of cool to go as far as to count how many hours you've been at an L3 lan though...
So why are the numbers so low?
We've been somewhat good at keeping track of how many people and who come to L3's, but some of that data got changed as we changed our software to do it. We're using really simple software at this point to handle sign in's ... and it's different to the last one we used years ago. (As far as I recall, there were about four different sign in software that we made). So, some of the data is sitting in some back ups that we have... but it does mean trawling through all this data ... matching it up with user names and user id's and matching it up with events we did in the past! So this all amounts to a bucket load of work.
So we've pretty much just used the data that we've been collecting for the last four lans or so ... hence why the "oldest" members only have 8 days.
Very interesting job.

Ok this noob will see you at the next one!
Just checking in and counting the days.
Edit - yeah, us noobs better get some LAN days under our belts!
Word
Have been to 4 or 5 lans myself over the years with my partner but wasn't registered for any of them I don't think. Got plenty of time to rack up a solid amount of days though ;)
