Ok so I have hosted a server, I'm currently working out all the kinks but looks as tho it will be all sweet for arenas.

Disregard the link to your own characters wow armory page, I think we should all start from scratch and by the highest lvl'd pvp gear with honor points or such.

Any Ideas? reply to post.

2vs2?, 3vs3 etc?

My copy of wow is patched to 3.2, so ill have to downgrade or grab your install, make sure you grab a ton of arena addons so we can pick and choose etc

What addons would people like?

Hey sorry, didnt see the forum.

Maybe im wrong in thinking, even if you have 3.2 installed you can still play on a 3.1 server without having to downgrade, but doesnt work the other way ie, cant play with 3.0 installed on a 3.1 server.

Fully agree with starting with nothing, buy whatever gear you want, it shouldnt be about the grind - just good fun, trying new things etc.

As for 2s/3s/5s... who knows!?! try do it all, its basically just a test to see if people like it and you dont know how many will be into it, if there is enough interest you could run a little tournament next time.

At the moment everyone starts at 80 with max gold and max honor and im about to fix the arena points so that we can go straight to leveling skills and buying arena gear before having a battle.

But I have some good ideas, I might test out Tournament servers tonight and there is even a FFA_PVP, which is pretty much a free for all everywhere but places of rest and sanctuaries.

As for just being able to play normally, well I could set up another world for that purpose but might just wait a few more days to get feedback.

Im glad someone got back to me about addons, I went through and got most of them.

I figured most people will know how to copy there addons from there own wow folders.

Well even if you cant get FFA to work in the world, we can always travel to Gurubashi or Nagrand pit to fight there

Make sure theres enough gold for Epic flyer/northrend etc

So many things have to be taken into account for a private server, what about enchants and gems. Im pretty sure that max arena points isnt enough to buy every piece that will be needed, same with honor , maybe just take the cost away from them if possible. And how will teams be decided?

Ha I already thought about this, and by max I mean server max so like 999999999 or something insane, thats the same for gold.

Gems I have made buyable from Auction house with the Auction house bot.

Um.... If there isn't a gem you want I guess I could give everyone gm to get them or something... I'll work it out

So far I have 2 realms up,
1 for pvp and arenas I guess
and I guess the second can be for a FFA realm.

I really dont see alot of people replying tho.

To be honest this is just on a testing basis, to see how many people would be keen to lan wow.

Just having fun.

Id say two servers is overkill, there surely wont be THAT many people wanting to PvP

Auction bot etc seems fine, and if we can start with 450 JC then we can do our own enchants etc, should be interesting to see how it works

yea 2 realms is :evil: OVERKILL :evil: , but its all for fun.
Means I can test on one while playing on the other.

ok so far I have

* 20000 items in action house, all of which cost under 1g (most of which purple and blue (I think))
* you start at lvl 80
* start with max gold (something like 214748)
* start with 9999999 honor and arena points (may need to increase, will see)

I'm working on the servers, im not sure what everyone wants.... FFA_PVP sounds cool, but I can see everyone camping the start areas when they are all geared up. (not sure if that will be a problem seeing as rest areas and sanctuaries are non FFA areas)

Oh and also be prepared to see random spawns that kill everyone once in a while. I tend to enjoy going command happy and spawning all of ulduar's bosses! (jokes)

Hell yeah Id be keen for some arena action... Although you would have to play nice (since i normally play on a normal realm and avoid the arena :tongue: )

And even if it doesnt end up happening, playing round on a private server is always fun :D :eyebrows:

Don't worry im a PvP noob, Mostly enjoy PvE so should be good to see how a massive PvP battle works

+1 for spawning ToC northrend beasts into org and watching em go

Testing server again tomorrow (friday), had crashing issues earlier.

Sweet, if you wanna host that would be cool.
I hosted an older one on mangos last time, with a few issues.

I will help if you want, or sort out an updated server if you cant host.

just bring all the addons and we can install them to the box.
