Introduction
L3 #46 was held on the weekend of the 11th to 13th of December 2009 and was our second lan held at 575c Colombo St. As with the past two Christmas lans in L3 history - it was hot - with a record temp of 29 degrees reached on Friday night, fortunately the rest of the weekend was much more tolerable as we opened up all of the windows and doors.
Attendance
77 people turned up for a weekend of fragging. It was fantastic to see everyone again and we were quite lucky to catch as many as we did due to Christmas being just around the corner.

Networking and Technical
The network ran very smoothly over the course of the weekend, the only issues reported seems to be with people having IPv6 enabled and attendees not using standardized clients. These two problems did keep the admins busy but were in reality minor problems. To further explain the issue with Vista and Windows 7, it has to do with their new ability to dynamically change the size of packets. This tends to work fine on newer switches and routers, but not so for older switches and routers. This can be disabled by using a command line, so in future we will most likely ask all Windows Vista and Windows 7 users to disable this feature as well as IPv6. Also, we will not be supporting non-retail versions of Windows (Quite a few people were using Release Candidate versions), Linux or other OS's other than Windows. Also please patch your OS as some patches resolve some networking issues.
Projector
For most of the lan, DJ Hero was being played. This looked like a pretty awesome game. During Saturday we put up some Worms: World Wide Party so everyone could see the hilarious carnage that was going on. The Trackmania Nations tournament was also displayed on the projector while it was running. During Sunday a Streets of Rage remake and Dynamite Cop were given the lime light.
Gaming
Trackmania Nations tournament was held on Saturday night with 21 competitors racing for the gold trophy. Everyone raced well, but it was won by MonkeyMan (It was coming at you!!!) who took the crown followed by Seihava and Laykun. The game of the lan was Killing Floor, with constant games running all weekend. We also ran organised games of Call of Duty 4, Grand Theft Auto 2, Crashday, Starcraft, Demigod, FreeLancer with Discovery and Worms: World Wide Party.
